Return Policy
All orders placed will be processed directly through the Smile Institute.  Expect deliveries to arrive within 7-10 business days; Shipments made to Alska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico may take up to 14 days.  Shipping applies to US residents only.   All non-electronic items that are unopened may be returned to the Smile Institute for full refund within 30 days.  Electronic devices are to be returned directly back to the manufacturer.  Returns may be dropped off to the Smile Institute or shipped at personal expense.  For more information on returns or exchanges please contact the Smile Institute at 541-484-1955.

Partial Dentures

A removable partial denture that consists of replacement teeth that is attached to a gum color base with metal framework in between.  These partial dentures are used if there is one or more exisiting teeth or present in the upper or lower jaws.

Instant Orthodontics

Crooked or improperly spaced teeth that previously required months of orthodontics can now be fixed immediately through Instant Orthodontics. Porcelain or composite materials are used to close spaces or reshape teeth so that they appear to be in perfect symmetry with surrounding teeth, gums and lips. It literally can be done in one or two appointments.

Bite Stablization-Teck Scan

The T-Scan is a unique device that allows the dentist to record in real time the forces being applid to your teeth, when each individual tooth touches, how long it touches when biting down hard, and how much force is being applied.  The dentist can also record forces and timing of your teeth grinding left or right.  This is very valuable information for equilibration of forces and protecting individual teeth from excessive forces down and side to side.  All of this information is helpful in providing less muscle stress and more comfort.

Bite stabilization and TMJ comfort are the primary goal.

Zoom

Teeth whitening can be accomplished in one visit to our office. Often called POWER WHITENING, or ZOOM WHITENING, the procedure can improve the color or shade of your teeth up to eight shades. The results are long lasting and can be stabilized by simple home bleaching 2-3 times a year with the custom trays and gels we provide as part of the office bleaching. For some who plan to have composite bonding or porcelain veneers, bleaching is a good first step prior to restorative work.

 

Home Whitening

With our home whitening system we'll have you come in to the office and take impression from your mouth and we will make a custom fitted tray to be worn over your teeth. Included in the home whitening system will be bleaching gel.  This gel will be applied in a small amount in the tray and worn for a brief amount of time each day. While some results may be seen in a couple days, it usually takes one to two weeks to see the full whitening of your teeth.

 

 

Overview of Tooth Whitening

The single tooth whitening is used to correct discoloration of a tooth by removing the brown and yellow staining. 

Tooth Bleaching

This procedure can be performed entirely in the cosmetic dentist's office in only one or two visit.  Dr. Smith may first try a regular abrasive cleaning of the tooth. This may be followed by a bleaching process on the stained tooth or teeth. Severely stained teeth may require the use of a special whitening gel activated by a laser. we will carefully lighten the tooth until a near-perfect color match with your other teeth is achieved.

If done with crowns, veneers, bridges or partial/full dentures, any issues with smile alignment, color and shape can be corrected almost instantly.  Crowded vs. crooked vs. gaps between teeth can be corrected in a brief series of appointments with either direct (composite) or indirect (porcelain) veneers.  Direct Composite Veneers are made at the time of your appointment in one sitting.  Indirect procelain veneers are made from models of your prepared teeth in a dental laboratory by a dental lab technician.  Here at the Smile Institute we have our own dental lab and technician, so procelain makeovers can be accomplished to your specifcations quickly.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers can quickly correct the color, position and/or shape of your front teeth. When applied by a cosmetic dentist, the veneers mimic natural enamel with the same translucency and color at the gum line as a tooth.  With our in-house laboratory patients are able to walk away with a new smile in a weeks time. 

 

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a simple and effective option available for patients to enhance their smile.  Depending on your dental needs there are various whitening options available for you.  In our office we are able to provide single tooth whitening, Zoom whitening or custom made trays for use with our at home whitening systems. 

Single Tooth Whitening-coffee, tea, cigarettes and root damage can all play a part in tooth discolartion.  With single tooth whitening it can eliminate the various tooth shades instantly.

Express Invisalign

As a great option for patient who qualify, Express Invisalign can get your the smile you want in a quicker amount of time and with a fraction of the cost. 

  • Invisalign Express is a treatment option for cases that can be addressed in 10 stages of aligners or less
  • Has some clinical restrictions.
  • This is for cases that require little movement, mild crowding and mild to no rotation.
  • It is a great system for rebound cases of people who had braces before.

Invisable Braces

Invisible braces with Invisalign can be used to align teeth without the use of wires, elastics or metal brackets. This greatly enhances oral hygiene and comfort. Most orthodontics can be done with the use of clear aligners that are changed by the patient every two weeks. Dr. Smith is a Preferred Provider of Invisalign in the Eugene area and has been providing this care since 2002 with fabulous results.


TMJ/Occlusion

Here at the Smile Institute we are able to treat patients with various TMJ/Occlusion and denture needs.  Dr. Smith has the only clinically diagnostic device available that senses and analyzes occlusal contact forces to quantify whether a patient's bite is balanced.

Conscious Sedation

Do you have anxiety about seeing the dentist? For those who have terrible memories of past dental experiences or just want to be able to fully relaxed during a long appointment, conscious sedation is an excellent choice. Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain crowns are used to strengthen and restore teeth that are weakened from numerous fillings and/or are cracked and chipped. Porcelain bridges are used to replace missing teeth. They look like your natural teeth and produce an exceptional result in most patients.  With the benefits of our Smile Institute Lab our Lab Technician is able to closley match your new porcelain crown to the color of your teeth and also eliminate the wait time in geting your permanent crown placed.

 

Root Canal Treatment

When tiny canals become infected in your tooth a root canal will be performed.  You doctor will remove the infection and will fill the canal and or place a crown over it.  This procedure can often be completed in one to two appointments.

 

Brackets & Wires

We can use regular brackets and elastics (braces) for fine tuning your front teeth alignment. Invisalign is the primary process we use for orthodontic correction of even the most extreme problems, but sometimes regular braces are needed for positioning teeth at the end of treatment for a just a few weeks.

Dentures

A removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues.  Complete dentures would be used if all teeth are missing.  If a patient has complete denture(s) and is a candidate for dental implants, it can help stabalize the dentures for more support and provide for more comfort and ease of chewing.

Implants

Dental implants are the aesthetically pleasing alternative to old fixed or removable bridges. They're manufactured of titanium and are completely compatible with your bone and gum tissue. Most implants are used to replace missing teeth or to provide stability and support for dentures or partial dentures.
